Child Custody & Parenting Plans

Child Custody Parenting Plans Shrewsbury MA

In a divorce with children, the Court will issue orders regarding physical and legal custody of the children. Physical custody determines where the children will physically reside. Legal custody addresses which party will have input in decisions regarding education, religion and medical care.

All custody decisions made by the Court are based on the “best interests of the child” standard. I represent both Mothers and Fathers in child custody matters. As a parent myself, I understand that I cannot presume to know what will work best for you and your children. I work hard to listen to the concerns of my clients as they describe their desired parenting plan and custody arrangement. Every family has unique needs and what works for one family may not work for another. It is important that your custody arrangement and parenting plan fit your needs and the needs of your children. My experience, as both an attorney and a parent, along with my sensible approach to custody matters, can help you to achieve a parenting plan that works for you and your children.

Paternity

In order to establish child support and custody arrangements for children of parents that have not been married, the Court must make a finding of paternity. A father can voluntarily acknowledge paternity on the child’s birth certificate, or paternity can later be established through non-invasive DNA testing. Once paternity is established, orders for child support, custody and parenting plans can be established. Our office will work to guide you through this process.
I will guide you through this challenging period in your life to reach the best outcome for your loved ones, your finances and your future.
